THROUGH OUR DAYCARE
Classrooms
Our Pre-School and Pre-Kindergarten daycare classrooms recently underwent a major renovation thanks to our partnership with Alief ISD. These classrooms have been outfitted with new furniture, learning materials, technology (iPads for the children) and laptops for the teachers.
Gymnasium
We have a 4000 sq. ft., air-conditioned gymnasium where children get to play on any of those rainy or very hot days that Houston is known for year around. We have a plethora of age appropriate activities available in the gym including riding cars, basketball goals, parachute play, kickballs, etc.
Playgrounds
Grandma’s House Child Care has more than 2 acres of age appropriate playgrounds. The shaded playgrounds offer a variety of activities including playground equipment, swings, open spaces for games and a general opportunity to just play in nature. We also recently updated our Toddler playgrounds to include numerous hands-on activities including painting, musical instruments, riding cars, play houses and Lego boards.
Garden
In Spring 2017, we completed the construction of our outdoor classroom with the assistance of a grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture. We have incorporated all of the traditional classroom learning topics including math, science, reading, language arts and social studies into our gardening activities. Click here to learn more!
Security
Grandma’s House daycare is located on a quiet neighborhood street away from heavily traveled roads. We are in a stand-alone building surrounded by homes and churches. We have a keypad entry system at the front of the school and our playground gates have child-proof locks. We also have security cameras that cover a large part of our inside and outdoor spaces.
